Storm falls short in Open Cup
 Hasental doubles up on Storm 2-1
Santa Carita, California, Storm came on strong at the Whistle but finished short in a 2-1 loss At Harry Welch Stadium Saturday night in the second leg of the US Open Cup Qualifier. Tyler Coombes the Storms top goal score last season, started the 2nd leg of the Open Cup Qualifiers right where he left off, with a goal in the 9th minute of play off a pass from Ricky Cruz to out maneuver Cesar Ventura the Hasental Keeper. Hasental came back with a series of passing in the 14th minute when defender Marcial Cazares took on keeper Aaron Perez in a one on one and beat the Perez to even the score, and it was a battle the rest of the first half of play.

The second 45 minutes the visitors came out have most of the possession and in the 59th minute it paid off as Alberto Anguiano received a pass form Gustavo Villalobes took take the lead and what became the winning goal for Hasental.The Storm put on a show of shots in the last six minutes of play that included 4 minutes of stoppage time. Several excellent opportunities the last several minutes, Ricky Cruz blasted a shot the hit the cross bar and Captain Matthew Shaxton on a restart it a rocket on target but it found the hands of Ventura. With only minute left Robbie Gouk on the bench for forward Mauricio Harrie caused a may-lay of havoc up front bringing on several shots but with no luck. F.C. Hasental will go on and face the winner of Sundays match between San Diego Boca and the Sand Diego Flash for the one representative in the Open Cup for the South West Division of the Western Conference of the NPSL.


The Storm opens the Season April 7th on the road at San Diego facing the Boca F.C.
and will open up at home April 13th against the Las Vegas Stallions F.C. 5pm kick off at Canyon High Harry Welch Stadium.
