Goalkeeper Aaron Perez sign for the remainder of 2013
Santa Clarita , California - LA Blues of the United Soccer Leagues Pro Division signed Santa Clarita Storms Goalkeeper Aaron Perez
for the remainder of the 2013 season. Perez is a former football
player, who played for the UCLA Bruins in college and had stints with
the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins as a punter, before turning
to soccer. Aaron signed with the Santa Clarita Storm
this past off season and recorded 4 wins 1 loss with 4 goals against
while facing 29 shots and saving 23 in 360 mins played in 5 games. Aaron
will start for the Blues tonight 5-7-13 in league play facing the LA
Galaxy at 7pm at the Home Depot Center. When asked Aaron said " I'm very
excited (naturally) and looking forward to this opportunity although I
have really enjoyed being apart of the Storm and I have enjoyed my
teammates. I'm thankful for this opportunity the Blues have given me as
well." Storms Head Coach Jose Mesa commented on the move as being
really good for Aaron and for the Storm. " I'm glad and the other
players can see what I've been telling them, and that is " the Storm is a
stepping stone for them to get the the next level", this is a good
example of that" said Meza.
The Blues will play tonight at the Home Depot Center and then on May 17th will travel to Virgina to face the Richmond Kickers and will not return back home until May 31st. .
