The Sol had no intention of giving up its undefeated record, at least not now as they went on to capture the finial Western Championship game and a ticket to host the opening game of the semi's in the National Premier Soccer League National Finial Four.

Sonoma County Sol put an impressive win
in the books last night beating Golden Gate Division rivals Sacramento
Gold 3-1 in extra time. The Gold are the only team to have beaten the
Sol in 2013, losing out in a U.S. Open Cup qualifier. In the following 4
games the Sol won 3 and drew 1.
“We didn’t have our best game but we did what we needed to get the win," Sol midfielder Erik Larson stated. "This team loves working for each other.”
An early goal from Sacramento put the visitors up 1-0, but Sonoma Coutny answered a few minutes later pulling even 1-1. The game would remain tied going into extra time, where the Sol scored 2 goals in the first 15 minutes. The game-winning goal was scored by Brenton Frame off a header crossed in by Angel Acevedo followed by a spectacular team goal finished off by Cory Taufer.
“This side continues to impress with their ability to find ways to win games," Sol Club President Greg Volker commented. "With Taufer and the backline finding their form and goals coming from a multitude of players, we are very confident moving forward.”
