 December 22, 2012- Alex Harlley, Santa Clarita Storms Forward gets invitation to attend a private tryout with United Soccer Leagues Pro League Tampa F.C. by head coach Matt Weston.
This invite came on the back heels of one that team mate Tyler Coombes received to join training  with the LA Blues of the USL Pro Leagues. 
    Alex Harlley who has only been in the United States since 2010 at the age of 18 and living in Rosamond of the High Desert in Southern California. Attend Rosamond High School for two years after missing two years of school in his home town of Togo Africa.
Alex join his father Kodjo who had come to the United States looking for a better life when Alex was only two years old. Expected to come to the US at the age of 16 he was not enrolled in school and due to some snafu Alex could not come and he did not return to school for two years until he came to Rosamond. Not attending school Alex filled his time with soccer. His father sent for Alex in 2010 and when arriving in the United States at the age of 18 found he had two more years of High School to finish before he could move on to a College education. Alex attend Rosamond High School where he join the soccer team and quickly starting to make an impression. Not just on his coach but the entire Antelope Valley. In the Two years there Alex tied and broke records in most every category winning MVP awards and all league honors while leading his team of two consecutive appearances in the playoffs and a CIF title.  After graduation Alex was pursued continuously by Division one schools especially University of California Irvine. But Alex found himself short necessary credits to attend a Div. 1 school.  Alex had signed with the Rattlers F.C of the National Premier Soccer League in 2010 for the 2011 season.(Rattlers moved and re-branded under the name Storm in the City of Santa Clarita in the fall of 2011)
Alex agreed to attend Yavapai Community college in Arizona where he received a full ride scholarship with housing included. 
Once in college Alex again demonstrate his unique talent on the pitch. Of course he has some of that talent in his blood. Alex in the nephew of one of the most accomplished European soccer stars Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor who is brother to Alex’s mother. Alex fit in very comfortable in the college game, posting such stats his first year in 2012  as :
Games played  21 first in the league, Goals scored 22 first in the league, Assist 17 again first in league, points 61 and yet again first in the league. Alex also accumulate 47 shots . Lead his team to a league title and won himself another MVP award.
After a tremendous year in college Alex fines himself receiving offers from everywhere including one to attend a private invite only tryout out with the newest USL Pro League team the Tampa FC Flames. Alex received this invitation from the Flames head coach Matt Weston.
Matt Weston who was just appointed head coach for the new USL team is holding too tryouts in January the second is an invite only and is the session that Alex will attend towards the end of the month.

 The Santa Clarita Storm is part of Futbol Club Santa Clarita and participates in the National Premier    Soccer League. The Storm will be holding tryouts January 5th and 6th at Central Park in Santa Clarita. The Storm is looking for serious soccer players who are looking for a career in soccer.

Warren Barton GM of LA Blues gives invite to Tyler Coombes of the Storm

Storm Tyler Coombes is busy this off season, just returning from a try out in Phoenix Arizona where he was able to show his skills in front of the coaching staff at Phoenix FC the new United Soccer League (USL)Pro team. Then now he will travel January 10th to Florida to take part in another tryout with the USL Pro team the Tampa FC Flames. Tyler with his hard work in 2012 capping the season with 15 goals in 12 games and 2 assist helping his team to a second place spot in the NPSL South West Conference.  Finishing just behind the San Diego Flash who won the South West title after losing only one game all season and that was to the Storm with Coombes     getting the winning goal.  On the bench coaching  the Flash was Warren Barton the famous defender from the English Premier League you had  450 appearances for such clubs as Wimbeldon Newcastle United, Derby County and Queen Park Rangers as well as the England National Team., Since his retirement as a player in 2005, Barton (43) has been active in the coaching ranks, including a successful stint as the Under-18 coach for the LA Galaxy from 2008-10. Currently, Barton works as a studio analyst for FOX Sports’ Champions League matches as well as the Premier League coverage on FOX Soccer.
 Well Mr. Barton as reported by the United Soccer Leagues has just been promoted to General Manager of the LA Blues of the USL Pro leagues. As reported on the USL website Mr. Barton was quoted in saying “ I have a lot of respect for the Blues organization and can’t wait to begin meeting the players this week toward getting our plans and preparations under way for the new season.”
 Well one of the things he has done to get started to contact personally Tyler Coombes and has extended an invitation to join the Blues in training January 7th. According to Coombes in a phone interview with Gerald Brunner CEO of the Santa Clarita Storm and its parent corporation United Sports International Inc. “I remember seeing you in play during the NPSL season and I would like you to join the team in training January 7th I believe you have a good chance of making the team”. That’s what it is all about, said Brunner getting the players to the next step in there career. We have a couple of other players that will be getting looks for other clubs in the Pro leagues of the USL in the coming month.  Derek Dodrill, Alex Harlley, and Jesus Lopez.

the Storm is looking for serous players with the desire and ability to play at the professional level.
